C APPROVED BY COUNCIL REAL People -REALC atlorpEjLCOmmunpy JAN 1 1 ZOZU TO: The Honorable Mayor and City Council FROM: Julie Trout Lombardi City Attorney SUBJECT: Resolution 2020 -04, Authorizing Codification of the Owasso Code of Ordinances DATE: January 17, 2020 BACKGROUND: State statutes require municipalities to periodically authorize codification of the city's ordinances (11 O.S. §14 -108), and further require a municipality to compile and publish the city's penal ordinances every ten (10) years (11 O.S. §14 -109). This process necessitates that the Owasso Code of Ordinances be printed and distributed to the Tulsa County and Rogers County law libraries as well as made available in the City Clerk's office. In addition, a resolution authorizing codification must be approved by the City Council and filed with the County Clerk in Tulsa County and Rogers County. RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends approval of Resolution 2020 -04, confirming codification of the Owasso Code of Ordinances and providing public notification of the same.
