HomeMy WebLinkAboutORDINANCE NO. 04 & 5ORDINANCE # 4 AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE ELECTION OF TOWN OFFICERS. SECTION 1. That there shall be elected annually on the first Monday in May of each year, the following Town Officers: A Justice of the Peace, Treasurer, Assessor, Clerk and Marshal from the town at large, and a Trustee from each of the four districts of the town. SECTION 2. That nothing contained herein shall prevent the respective officers of Clerk and Assessor from being heldy by one and the same person Ordinance # 5 AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE ELCTION OF A TOWN CLERK, DEFINFING HIS DUTIES AND PROVIDING FOR HIS COMPENSATION. SECTION 1. That there shall be a Town Clerk elected on the first Monday of May in each year who shall hold his office for one year or until his successor shall have been elected and qualified. SECTION 2. The Clerk of the said Town shall have the custody of the record books and papers of the Board of Trustees, and attend all meetings, and keep a correct record of all proceedings of said Board and shall perform all other duties as required of him by the by-laws. SECTION 3. The Clerk shall within ten days after his election or appointment, give bond payable to the said Town of Owasso, Oklahoma, with freehold sureties to such an amount as the Board of Trustees shall direct. SECTION 4. The Clerk shall receive compensation for his services as follows: SECTION 5. Special meetings of the qualifed votes shall be called by the Clerk by order of the Board of Trustees of said Town, by giving ten (10) days notice in the newspaper of said town, if any be printed, otherwise by posting notices in five (5) public places.
