HomeMy WebLinkAboutORDINANCE NO. 11ORDINANCE # 11 AN ORDINANCE CREATING REGULATIONS FOR THE SALE OF CEMETERY LOTS IN THE CITY CEMETERY OF OWASSO, OKLAHOMA. SECTION 1. That all lost in the City Cemetery shall be sold at and for the amounts set forth in this Section, to-wit: Lots from five (5) to forty-eight (48), inclusive, in Block Three (3) shall be Four Dollars ($4.00) each. Lots from One Hundred Thirty-one (131) to One Hundred Fifty-five (155), inclusive, in Block Three (3) shall be Five Dollars ($5.00). Lots one, two, three, four and ten from Forty-nine (49) to One Hundred Thirty (130), inclusive, in Block Three (3) shall be Ten Dollars ($10.00). All Lots in Blck one (1) and Two (2) shall be Ten Dollars ($10.00). Lots from One (1) to Seventy (70), inclusive in Block Fourt (4) shall be Ten Dollars ($10.00). SECTION 2. That all money accruing from the sale of cenetery lots shall be deposited into the hands of the City Treasurer, and said Fund to be known as "The Cemetery Fund", and when the said amount of each lot is deposited with the Treasurer, he shall notify the Clerk of the deposit and the name of the purchaser of said lot or lots. It shall be the duty of the Clerk to issue a lawful dded to the purchaser for said lot or lots. SECTION 3. That certain tracts of the City Cenetery shall be known as the "Potter's Field", in which to bury the poor or those who have not purchased a lot or lots; location of said tract is as follows: A plat of ground located in the northwest part of said cemetery which tract has not been surveyed off in lots as shown by the plat of the cemetery survey. This tract shall be free to all persons who wish to bury therein. SECTION 4. That all orders for money made from any order or asso- ciation or any other person in charge thereof shall be presented to the Town Council, stating the amount and for what purpose expended and upon the approval of the Council, then the Clerk shall issue a Warrant upon the Treasurer for said amount, the same ot be paid out of "The Cemetery Fund." SECTION 5. No money shall be drawn from "The Cemetery Fund" for any other purposes than for improvement or care of the cemetery. SECTION 6. No person shall be allowed to bury their dead on any lot which is unsold or in possession of the Town, neither shall any person or persons have the right to bury on any lot sold unless the party owning the lot shall give permission to do so. SECTION 7. Any person or person violating this Ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be fined in any sum not less than One Dollar ($1.00) nor nore than Twenty-five Dollars ($25.00) for each offense.
