HomeMy WebLinkAbout2001.03.06_OPWA MinutesOWASSO PUBLIC WORKS AUTHORITY MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING Tuesday, March 6, 2001 The Owasso Public Works Authority met in a regular session on Tuesday, March 6, 2001 in the Council Chambers at the Owasso Community Center per the Notice of Public Meeting and Agenda posted on the City Hall bulletin board at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, March 2, 2001. ITEM 1: CALL TO ORDER Chairman Williams called the meeting to order at 7:10 p.m. ITEM 2: FLAG SALUTE The flag salute was held during the City Council meeting preceding this meeting. ITEM 3: ROLL CALL PRESENT H C "Will" Williams, Chairman Randy Brogdon, Trustee Rebecca Armstrong, Trustee STAFF Larry Mitchell, City Manager Ronald D Cates, Authority Attorney Marcia Boutwell, Authority Secretary A quorum was declared present. ABSENT Mary Lou Barnhouse, Vice Chair Melinda Voss, Trustee ITEM 4: CONSIDERATION AND APPROPRIATE ACTION RELATING TO A REQUEST FOR APPROVAL OF THE CONSENT AGENDA. A. Approval of the Minutes of February 20, 2001 Regular Meeting. B. Approval of Claims. The consent agenda included minutes of the February 20, 2001 regular meeting, by reference made a part hereto. Item B on the consent agenda included the following claims: (1) Owasso Public Works Authority $273,017.35; (2) OPWA Capital Improvements $43,166.32; (3) OPWA Sales Tax $120,621.23; (4) Payroll $38,266.67. Mr Brogdon moved, seconded by Ms Armstrong, to approve the consent agenda. AYE: Brogdon, Armstrong, Williams NAY: None Motion carried 3-0. Owasso Public Works Authority March 6, 2001 ITEM 5: REPORT FROM OPWA MANAGER No report. ITEM 6: REPORT FROM OPWA ATTORNEY. No report. ITEM 7: NEW BUSINESS. John Partin, 902 N Ash commended the public works department for street repairs made, even though they took a while. He then asked if there is a city policy relating to city vehicles being taken outside the city limits during non -working hours. Mr Rooney responded that the policy states that no city vehicle, with the exception of police vehicles, may be taken outside the fenceline during non -working hours. Employees who drive a city vehicle may not take that vehicle home if they live outside the fenceline. Mr Carr said a policy has been established in the public works department requiring that all vehicles be left in the public works compound after regular working hours. Employees on call pick up their vehicle from the compound if they are called out. ITEM 8: ADJOURNMENT Mr Brogdon moved, seconded by Ms Anustrong, to adjourn.
