HomeMy WebLinkAbout1968.10.29_Planning Commission MinutesOctober 29, 1968 The Owasso Planning Commission met in a special called meeting on Thesday, October, 29, 1968 at 7:30 P. M. at the Torn Hall. Present: Vernon Lewis, Chairman Bernice Dunaway, Secretary - Treas. Bill Whittaker, Member John Groth, Member Tom Rikkola, New member Absent : Bill Boyd A. B. Hoop The reading of the kinutes of the previous meeting was dispensed with until the next meeting. The resignation of Mr. A. B. troop qas announced and the introduction of Mr. Tom Rikkola, and his appointment for Three years was given to the Commission. Mr. Joe Steed, Mr. Hartman, And Mr. James W. Heider were introduced and they presented a letter of request to the Planning Commission. The letter was a request for a hearing on the zoning of a tract of land consisting of approximately 215 acres of land located in the NW corner of 116th Street North and Garnett Road, formerly known as the Joe Steed Property. The Plan called for a minimum 600 mobile homes and a maximum 800 mobile homes, with 93 acres being used in the developement: 59 acres being used for a multi - family developement, and 62 acres being used for commercial developmmtt. John Groth said that it would not be feasible to develops the land across the R. R. Tracks. The problem of the overload on the school created1by such a developement was discussed. Mr. Heidler was asked if he could donate 5 acres for a school, and his reply was that it was possible. Bill Whittaker made the motion to table the vote on the plat as submitted for zoning by Mr. Heidler for one week. Second by Mr. Tom Rikkola, motion carried.
