The Owasso Planning Commission met in an organizational meeting, Thursday
evening, January 20, 1966 at 7:35 Pm. at the Town Hall.

Al Keskee, Community Planning Associates
Absent:
Ed Hayes, Member
Mayor Groth called the meeting to order.
Mr. Keskee suggested that the Commission get on a formal basis as soon as
possible with Mayor Gorth sending formal letters of acceptance to each of
the Commission Members.
The Commission approved the terms to be served by each member as follows:
Ed Hayes one(jJO year
Vernon Lewis Two (2) years
A. B. Roop Two (2) years
Bernice Dunaway Three (3) years
John Kornegay Three (3) years.
The state statues giving communities authority to set up local planning
commissions was presented by Mr. Keskee, with the Commission being advised
the they would prepare, review and recommend to the city council. Mr. Keskee
reported that ordinances would have be in effect for the Commission to take control.
He reported that interim ordinances could be adopted until final ordinances
are written and approved.
Vernon Lewis was elected Chairman of the Commission. John Kornegay was elected
Vice- Chairman and Mrs. Bernice Dunaway, Secretary- Treasurer. Officers will
serve on a one (1) year basis.
Meetings are to be scheduled regularly for the third (3) Thursday of each
month. Four (4) members of the Commission must be present to create a quorum.
Five (5) day's notice to members must be submitted before a special meeting
may be called. Formal minutes of the meetings are to be prepared, approved,
and kept on public record at City Hall.
When the Planning Commission submits recommendations to the City Council in
zoning cases, their reasons for their actions should bq given.
Mr. Keskee presented the Community Planning Associates' proposal for assisting
in planning the town and explained the steps used to officially begin a
Planning Commission.
Upon approval of final plans, the Council will file with the County Clerk's
Office, the town's plans.
The Commission is scheduled to meet again Thursday Evening, January 27, 1966,
at 7:30 P.M. at the Town Hall.
The meeting adjourned at 8:50 P. M.
