HomeMy WebLinkAbout1966.05.26_Planning Commission MinutesMay 26, 1966 The Owasso Planning Commission met in regular session, Thursday, May 26, 1966, 7:30 P. M at Town Hall. Present: Vernon Lewis A. B. Hoop John Groth Bernice Dunaway Absent: Ed Hayes Chairman Member Member Secretary - Treasurer Member The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved as read. Vernon Lewis read a letter from D. M. Socolosky, requesting commercial zoning for construction of U. S. Post Office, on the south 501 of Lot 5 Block 10, 0. T. Plans for the Post Office were shown and discussed. The motion was made by Bernice Dunaway that the zoning for the Post Office be approved as requested. Seconded by A. B. Roop. Ayes: A. B. Roop Vernon Lewis John Groth Bernice Dunaway Nays: None Under old business continued from last Meeting: John Groth does not deem it feasible to annex the section of town that the proposed trailer court would be located on. After discussion, Mr. John Groth made the motion that a letter be written to City Council endorsing the prelimiary plans of the Trailer Court Park, as presented by Meadowood Engineering Company. The motion didd for lack of second. Ed Hayes tendered his resignation due to his inability to attend the meetings because of his work schedule. John Groth discussed the water trust system, and also the Pate Engineering Survey that showed Owasso was growing at the rate of 57.E each year. He also discussed plans to run a water line to North Steed addition, Hale Acres, and Sherrill addition, by using a reasonable area of land, approximately z mile each side of road. The negotiable purchase of the master meter serving Jonesville, Graceland acres, Elm Creek, J. R. Smith, and any other areas was discussed. John Groth stated that he has been working kith the Tulsa Utility Board, and has been informed that they would increase our Spavinaw water line to give us more water any time we needed it. John Groth directed Bernice Dunaway to write two letters of recommendation to the City Council. One recommending the zoning of the Post Office and one recommending the acceptance of the Joe Steed addition for water service. Motion made to adjourn by John Groth; seconded by A. B. Roop.
