PRESENT: TOM RIKKOLA MIKE ELMS, TMAPC REPRESENTATIVE ALAN ANDERSON, CHAIRMAN SHARCNELL STEVENS WARREN BURDINE ABSENT: JOHN GROTH Alan moved to dispense with the reading of the minutes of the pre- vious meeting. Approved. The first item on the agenda was the presentation and discussion of H. D. Hale's plat for commercial development on Main Street between 7th and 8th streets. Mike suggested the Commission continue the plat to the June meeting since the plat was incomplete as to building layout, set -back, location of parking, etc. Mr. Hale agreed to erect a 6' high fence against adjoining residential property; however, he objected to fencing between the apartment buildings and the shopping center. He objected to his property having to be presented in a plat, also. Mike read the applicable requirements as pertain to fencing in our Ordinances to Mr. Hale. The meeting continued with a discussion of proposed annexations and their developments, namely the Edam Creek Addition - 460 acres and Oklahoma Baptist Acres - 135 acres.' Mr. Lane of Shibley -Lane Eng- ineering Co. was present to define his plat. Mike had determined they had around 65 acres of land devoted to Commercial zoning. He suggested the latest trend is to less Commercial on corners and es- pecially the corner of 86th and the 129th St. because of the pro- posed high school. He recommended the maximum allotment be 10 acres. The Commission felt the park requirements should be met in several small green areas rather than-the two large areas shown; also agreed to at least two "larger" streets (collector streets) for emergency vehicles. The streets shown were all 501 wide. Mike felt the ele- mentary school site- should be bounded on two sides by collector streets to move heavy traffic. Tom Rikkola requested a map showing several parks as opposed to two large ones and at least two "larger" streets. Mike presented some proposed amendments to the.zoning code. It has been several years now since the codes were adopted and it is time to review thee. The Commission will study the proposals and discuss their findings at the June meeting. Sharonell Stevens moved for adjournment. Motion carried. Alan Anderson, Chairman naronell Stevens, Secretary
