HomeMy WebLinkAbout2025.02.25 Board of Adjustment MinutesOWASSO BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING TUESDAY, February 25, 2025 The Owasso Board of Adjustment met in regular session on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, in the Council Chambers at Old Central, 109 North Birch Street, Owasso, Oklahoma, per the Notice of Public Meeting filed Friday, December 13, 2024; and the agenda filed in the office of the City Clerk and posted at City Hall, 200 South Main Street, at 5:00 pm on Monday, February 17, 2025. 1. Call to Order- Mr. Ramey called the meeting to order at 6:00 pm. 2. Roll Call - A quorum was declared present. PRESENT: ABSENT: STAFF: Chair -Joe Ramey Alexo Beemer, Planning Manager Vice Chair- Jim Bausch (in @ 6:02) Wendy Kramer, City Planner Board Member - Kyle Davis Cyndi Townsend, Recording Secretary Board Member- Heather Cunningham Julie Lombardi, City Attorney Board Member- Dean Knoten 3. Consideration and appropriate action relating to the minutes of the January 28, 2025, Regular Meeting Mr. Davis moved, seconded by Mr. Knoten, to approve the Minutes as presented. YEA: Davis, Cunningham, Knoten, Ramey NAY: None Motion carried: 4-0 *Jim Bausch entered the meeting at 6:02 pm* 4. Consideration and appropriate action relating to a special exception request (OBOA 25-02) to allow for the construction of an accessory structure in excess of five (500) hundred square feet on property located at 10612 East 96th Place North, zoned Residential Single Family (RS-3) Alexa Beemer presented the item, recommending approval. Three audience members spoke. After discussion, Mr. Bausch moved, seconded by Mr. Davis, to approve the special exception OBOA 25-02, as recommended. YEA: Davis NAY: Knoten, Cunningham, Ramey, Bausch Motion denied: 1-4 5. Consideration and appropriate action relating to a special exception request (OBOA 25-03) to allow for the construction of an accessory structure in excess of five (500) hundred square feet and a variance request to allow forthe reduction of the minimum required setback for accessory structures on property located at 1602 North Atlanta Street, zoned Residential Single Family (RS-3) Alexa Beemer presented the item, recommending approval of the special exception request and denial of the variance request. Staff received one written comment, and no comments were made from the audience. After discussion, Mr. Ramey moved, seconded by Mrs. Cunningham, to approve the special exception request OBOA 25-03, as recommended. YEA: Davis, Ramey, Bausch, Knoten, Cunningham NAY: None Motion carried: 5-0 Then Mr. Bausch moved, seconded by Mrs. Cunningham, to approve the variance request OBOA 25-03. YEA: Davis, Ramey, Bausch, Knoten, Cunningham NAY: None Motion carried: 5-0 Owasso Board of Adjustment February 25, 2025 Page 2 6. Consideration and appropriate action relating to a special exception request (OBOA 25-01) to allow for the construction of an accessory structure in excess of five (500) hundred square feet on property located at 12703 East 77rh Circle North, zoned Residential Single Family (RS-3) Wendy Kramer presented the item. Five audience members spoke. After discussion, Mr. Davis moved, seconded by Mr. Bausch, to approve the special exception request OBOA 25-01, with the condition that the applicant apply for the permit within 10 days and complete the work within 180 days. YEA: Knoten, Davis, Ramey, Bausch, Cunningham NAY: None Motion carried: 5-0 7. Report from Board of Adjustment Members -None 8. New Business - None 9. Adjournment Mr. Knoten moved, seconded by Mr. Davis, to adjourn the meeting.
