ITEM 5: CONSIDERATION AND APPROPRIATE ACTION RELATING TO THE
AWARD OF A BID FOR THE PURCHASE OF TWO GREENS MOWERS.
Mr Carlson presented the item. The greens mowers currently in use were purchased in the spring
of 1993, prior to the opening of the golf course. The life expectancy for a greens mower is
approximately 1500 hours. The greens mowers now in use have 2730 hours and 3019 hours
respectively on them. Bid documents were prepared with two triplex greens mowers and two
utility trucksters listed as a trade-in option. The documents were mailed to four vendors and bids
were received from three. Luber Brothers Inc in Bethany, OK presented the apparent low bid,
utilizing the trade-in option. In order for the equipment listed to be considered for trade-in, it
must be declared surplus to the needs of the Authority. Mr Brogdon moved, seconded by Ms
Barnhouse, to declare the four pieces of equipment listed as trade-in in the bid documents as
surplus to the needs of the Authority, and to award the bid for two triplex greens mowers, with
trade-in option of the surplus equipment included, to Luber Brothers Inc, Bethany, OK in the
amount of $19,498.
