HomeMy WebLinkAbout2008.03.11_City Council Minutes_SpecialOWASSO CITY COUNCIL MINUTES OF SPECIAL MEETING Tuesday, March 11, 2008 The Owasso City Council met in a special meeting on Tuesday, March 11, 2008 in the Council Chambers at Old Central, 109 N. Birch Street, per the Notice of Public Meeting and Agenda posted on the City Hall bulletin board at 5:00 PM on Friday, March 7, 2008. ITEM 1: CALL TO ORDER. Mayor Cataudella called the meeting to order at 6:02 PM. PRESENT Steve Cataudella, Mayor Susan Kimball, Councilor Doug Bonebrake, Councilor Jon Sinex, Councilor ABSENT DJ Gall, Vice Mayor A quorum was declared present. ITEM 2: DISCUSSION RELATING TO COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT ITEMS A. REQUEST FOR REZONING (1) B. REQUEST FOR FINAL PLAT (1) Mr. Rooney reviewed the above items (OZ 08-02 and Final Plat for Prestige Pond) and acknowledged staff's intent to place the items on the March 18, 2008 City Council agenda for action. ITEM 3: DISCUSSION RELATING TO FIRE DEPARTMENT ITEMS A. ASSISTANCE TO FIREFIGHTERS GRANT Mr. Rooney presented the item and advised Council that if the City of Owasso is a recipient of the grant funds an action item would be placed on the Council agenda at such time. ITEM 4: DISCUSSION RELATING TO CITY MANAGER ITEMS A. UPDATE REGARDING THE FIRESTATION NO. 3 CONSTRUCTION PROJECT B. CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECT PRIORITIES FOR FY 08-09 C. TULSA COMMUNITY COLLEGE /TULSA TECHNOLOGY CENTER PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT D. CITY MANAGER REPORT The above items were reviewed by Mr. Ray and Council discussion was held. Topics of discussion in Item D included an update on the FY 08-09 Budget preparations and a review of the Sales Tax Report for March 2008. Owasso City Council March 11, 2008 ITEM 5: LEGISLATIVE UPDATE Ms. Lombardi provided a review of proposed legislation relating to a municipalities collection of sales tax. ITEM 6: REPORT FROM CITY COUNCILORS None. ITEM 7: ADJOURNMENT Councilor Kimball moved, seconded by Councilor Sinex, to adjourn. All were in favor and the meeting was adjourned at 9:13 PM.
