HomeMy WebLinkAbout1993.10.11_Sales Tax Watchdog MinutesSales Tax Watchdog Committee City of Owasso October 11, 1993 The Owasso Sales Tax Watchdog Committee met in regular session on Monday, October 11, 1993 at 7:00 p.m. in the Owasso Community Center per Notice of Public Meeting and Agenda posted on the City Hall bulletin board at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 6, 1993. ITEM 1: Call to Order Chairperson Michael Philippi called the meeting to order at 7:10 p.m. ITEM 2: Roll Call MEMBERS PRESENT: John Groth, Steve Holleman, Tom Kimball, Harold Merrill, Michael Philippi, Vicki Tapp, Pat Woods MEMBERS ABSENT: Steve Barrett, Billie Fulbright, John Leach, Mike Nance, Peggy Robinson, Dan Siemens, Bill Williams STAFF PRESENT: Rodney Ray, Sherry Bishop, Steve Compton, Tim Rooney cITEM 3: Request Approval of Minutes of July 12, 1993 Regular Meeting Chairman Philippi moved, seconded by Tom Kimball, to approve the minutes as written. Motion carried 7 -0. ITEM 4: Presentation and Discussion of Financial Reports Ms. Bishop presented the committee with updated reports on the budgeted items from the bond issue and the bond payment schedule. The 76th Street project and the Residential Overlay projects are the only ones still in progress. Planned projects were also presented, including those currently in process. These projects are financed by excess sales tax funds. ITEM 5: Consideration & Approval of Quarterly Report for Public Distribution The Committee discussed Progress Report No. 18 for the period ending September 30, 1993. Under Additional Projects, Engineering and Construction portions of the Sports -Park should indicated that they are underway. Under Original Projects, the money appropriated for Residential Street Overlay should be $183.406.00, and the money appropriated for the Baseball - Soccer Field should be 383,117.00. John Groth moved to approve Report No. 18 as corrected. Motion was seconded by Steve Holleman and carried 7 -0. • Sales Tax Watchdog Committee October 11, 1993 Page 2 ITEM 6: General Discussion of Projects & Progress port City Manager Rodney Ray reported on the status of the current sales tax projects. A Change Order to the central fire station project in the amount of $8489 for a training room will be acted on by the City Council in November. Renovation to the old fire bays at City Hall will begin in November with the design phase. Overlay has been completed on 129th E Ave. ITEM 7: Unfinished Business None ITEM 8: New Business A committee attendance chart was distributed. Mr Kimball requested a listing containing the number of meetings each member has attended compared to the number of meetings held. ITEM 9: Request Items for Next Agenda A request was made to discuss and review attendance policies. ITEM 10: Adjournment With no further business to come before the Committee, Tom Kimball moved for adjournment.
