STAFF COMMENTS:
The 76th St Improvement Project originally was intended to "mill and overlay" 76th Street from
U.S. 169 to the west city limits boundary Durin g the plannin g_process, it was determine d that
the 76th & Main intersection improvements were of a hi her priority due to the location of a
maior industrial facility south of the city (Fifth A venuel Ho wever, the state and county were
convince d to ioin the city in the project and contributed $45 000 in equipment & personnel costs
to mill an d overlay 76th from U.S 169 to Main thus allowin the city to concentrate mo st of
its money on the intersection. Total cost to the ci ty was $173 338 Of that $23 338 was paid
from OD OT Industrial Road Grant.
