HomeMy WebLinkAbout015_Streets_Setting Up Systematic Naming and NumberingORDINANCE NO 15 STREETS Whereas in order that the Town of Owasso, Oklahoma may have a systematic method of setting up their street, both by name and by numbers, and whereas in order that somthime in the future Owasso may be in a position to obtain house to house mail sercive; Now therefor, it is hereby ordained by the Board of Trustees of the Town of Owasso as follows: I. The present street of Broadway, which runs East and West, shall remain as is, and the present street of Main street, which runs North and South, Shall remain as is. All public streets South of Broadway running East and West shall be numbered as Avenues, starting at the first public street as First Avenue, the second as Second Avenue, ans so on as far as the town shall expand to the South. II. All punlic streets North of Boradway, running East and West, sahll be numbered as streets, starting with the first public street as First Street, the second as Second Street, and so on as far as the town shall expand to the North. III. All streets and Aveunues West of Main Street running North and South shall be called by the names of cities in alphabetical order; that is, the first street West of main shall be Atlanta Street, the second Beaumont Streeet, the third Carlsbad Steet, the fourth Dennison Street, ect. V. All streets running North and South, East of Main Street shall be called by the names of trees in alphabetical order; that is Birtch Street, Cedar Street, Dogwood Street, Elm Street, ect. VI. A copy of a Sample Plat with the corrections made is attached hereto, made apart hereof, as though incorported herein. Section No. 15 An emergency exits for the preservation of the public health, peace and safety and for the furtherance of the public health, by reason whereof, this ordinance shall take effect form and after its passage, approval and publication. PASSED, and the emergency clause ruled upon separately and approved this 7 day of November. 1960. President, Board of Trustees Attests: Town Clerk City Attorney Proof of posting State of Oklahoma County of Tulsa I, the undersigned, being duly sworn, say that on the 10 day of November, 1960, I posted true copies of the within ordinanice in five public places in Owasso, Tulsa County, as follows; 1. Tayor's Laundry 2. City Hall 3. Wells Food Market 4. Ramsey Shoe Store 5.Joe's Thrift T-Wise Store Signed subscribed and sworn to before me this 10 day of November, 1960. Robert M.
