HomeMy WebLinkAbout038_Drivers License_Necessary_FinesORDINANCE NUMBER 38 AN ORDNANCE RELATING TO THE TRAFFIC LAWS OF THE TOWN OF OWASSO, CREATING AND ESTABLISHING PROCEDURES AND REGULATIONS PERTAINING TODRIVERS LICENSES; AMENDING CHAPTER THREE (3), SECTION FIVE (5), TITLE THIRTEEN (13) OF THE REVISED ORDINANCES AND TRAFFICE CODE FOR THE TOWN OF OWASSO, OKLAHOMA, FOR THE YEAR 1957, BY ADDING THERETO A SECTION DESIGNATED A SECTION 52: REPEALING ALL OTHER ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH TO THE EXTENT OF SUCH CONFLICT: PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY: AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE TOWN OF OWASSO, OKLAHOMA: That Section 5, Chapter 3, title 13 of the revised Ordinances for the Town of Owasso, State of Oklahoma, 1957, also known as the "Traffic Code" for said Town of Owasso, be amended by adding thereto a section to be desinated as Sectin 5a, as follows: Section 5a. -- OKLAHOMA OPERATOR'S OR CHAUFFEUR'S LICENSE REQUIRED. (1) No person except those holding and in lawful possession of a valid Operator's or Chauffeur's licens as required and defined by the laws of the State of Oklahoma, Title 47, Sections 6-101 to 6-308, inclusive, of the Oklahoma Statutes, 1961, shal operate or drive a motor vehicle of any knid or character upon the strees, roadwats, thoroughfares or upon any private road open to the public use within the incorporated limits of the Town of Owasso, Oklahoma. (2) Any person convicted of a violation of this sectin shall be punished by a fine not to exceed Twenty Dollars ($20) including costs. (3) Emergenct. That because of the present existance of conditions which obviously constitute and immediate threat to the safety of person and property and the peace and welface of the general public within the Town of Owasso, Oklahoma, an emergency exists for the preservation of public peace, health, safety, and welfare, by reason whereof this ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage, as provided by law. Emergency clause voted upon separately and passed by unanimous vote of the Board of Trustees this 21st day of January, 1963.
