AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO THE OWNERSHIP, KEEPING AND CONTROL OF DOGS WITHIN THE TOWN OF
OWASSO; REQUIRING OWNERS OF DOGS TO KEEP DOGS CONFINED OR PENNED; PROHIBITING DOGS TO BE
ALLOWED TO RUN AT LARGE; AMENDING SUBSECTION "g" OF SECTION 1, TITLE 1 OF THE REVISED
ORDINANCES FOR THE TOWN OF OWASSO, OKLAHOMA, BY MAKEING SUCH SUBSECTION APPLICABLE TO ALL DOGS
WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE TOWNOF OWASSO, BY ADDING THE WORDS, "OR ANY DOG RUNNING
AT LARGE"; AMENDING SUSECTION "c" OF SECTION 2, TITLE I OF THE REVISED ORDINANCES FOR THE
TOWN OF OWASSO, OKLAHOMA, MAKING SUCH SUBSECTION APPLICABLE TO ALL DOGS WITHIN THE TOWN OF
OWASSO, OKLAHOMA: DECLARING ALL OTHER ORDINANCES RELATIN G TO THE OWNERSHIP, LICENSING,
OR KEEPING AND CONTROL OF DOGS WITHIN SAID TOWN LIMITS TO REMAIN UNCHANGED: AND DECLARING
AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE TOWN OF OWASSO, STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
SECTION I
That subsection "g" of Section 1, Title 1 (Chapter 1) of the revised Ordinances for the
Town of Owasso, Oklahoma, 1957, be amended to provide and read as follows:
" 'g' Dog a Nuisance When: Any dog which scratches, or digs, into any flower bed, garden,
tilled soil, vines, Shrubbery or small plants, and in so doing injures the same; or which
habitually prowls around or over any premises not the property of its owner, to the
annoyance of the owner or occupant of such premises; or which overturns any garbage can
or other vessel for waste products, or scatters the contents of same, or a dog which
chases or kills andy chicken or other domestic fowl, or any dog running at large, is hereby
declared to be anuisance."
SECTION II
That Subsection "c" of Section 2, Chapter 1, of Title 1 of the Revised Ordinances for the
Town of Owasso, Oklahoma, 1957, be ameded to provide and read as follows:
"'(c)' To allow any dog to run at large whether such dog, male or female, is licensed
or not."
SECTION III
All other provisions of Title One (1) of the revised Ordinances for the Town of Owasso,
Oklahoma, and all other provisions of ordinances contained therein, not in conflict with this
ordinance shall remain unchanged and in full force and affect.
SECTION IV
EMERGENCY. That becuase of existing conditions constituting an immediate threat to the
safety of persons and property and to the public welface and health, occasioned by reason of
dogs running at large within the corporate limits of the Town of Owasso, and for the preservation
of public health, peace and safety, and by reason whereof, this ordinance, Number 57,
shall take affect from and after its passage, approval and publication.
Emergency clause voted uon separately and passed by unanimous vote of the Board of
Trustees this 1st day of February, 1965.

CERTIFICATE OF POSTING
I, , the duly elected and acting Deputy Clerk
of the Town of Owasso, Oklahoma, do hereby certify that on the 16 day of
February, 1965, i posted copies of the above Ordiannces No. 57, in ten of the
most public places in the Town of Owasso, Oklaoma, including one in public
view at the Town Hall, in said Town of Owasso, as required by law.
