HomeMy WebLinkAbout069_Plumbing Inspection Established ORDINANCE NUMBER 69 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION FOUR (4), CHAPTER ONE (1), TITLE ELEVAN (11) OF THE REVISED ORDINANCES FOR THE TOWN OF OWASSO, OKLAHOMNA, 1957, RELATING TO PLUMBING INSPECTION AND FURTHER AMENDING THE PLUMBING CODE BY ADDING HERETO SECTIONS DESIGNATED AS SECTIONS FOUR-"A", FOUR-"B" (4-B) AND FOUR-"C" (4-C); REQUIRING INSPECTION OF PLUMBING INSTALLATIONS, REPAIRS AND/ OR EXTENSIONS AND DRAINAGE SYSTEMS OR CHANGE IN SEWER CONNECTED PIPE; PROVIDING FOR FEES AND CHARGES FOR INSPECTIONS; DEFINING FIXTURE; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF TRUSTEES OF THE TOWN OF OWASSO, OKLAHOMA: That Section 4 of Chapter 1,. Title 11 (also known as the "plumbing code") of the Revised Ordinances for The Town of Owasso, Oklahoma, 1957, be amended as hereinafter ordained and by adding to said Chapter 1, Ttile 11 of the Revised Ordinances for The Town of Owasso, for 1957, sections to be designated as "Section 4-A", "Section 4-B" and "Section 4-C", as follows: SECTION 4 PLUMBING INSPECTED No plumbing shall be connected to the waterworks of the Town of Owasso, Oklahoma, or to any private sewage system or to the sewage system of the Town, until the same shall have been inspected and approved and all inspections fees paid, as compling with all requirements herein set forth, by the Plumbing Inspector of the Town of Owasso, Oklahoma. SECTION 4-A INSPECTION FEES AND CHARGES The plumbing inspector shall charge a maximum fee of $2.00 for all inspections of each plumbing job where one or two fixtures are installed in any building or structure, and shall charge a fee of $1.00 for each additional fixture inspected. Each bathtub, sink, water closet, laundry tub, lavatory, bar fixture, soda fountain, shower or shower bath, urinal, drain, area drain, pumps or pits where automatic ejectors are installed, grease traps, or any other fixture or appliance connected to the plumbing system shall constitute a fixture under this Code. A fee of $2.00 shall be charged for each extra trip of the Plumbing Inspector caused by faulty work, or work not completed or ready for inspection when said Inspector is notified to make such inspection. Where any building has been moved, any plumbing therein shall be sanitary, shall comly with this Code and shall be inspected, for which a fee of $2.0 shall be charged. If any fixtures are added, the fee shall be the same as herein provided. All plumbing shall be visable until inspected and approved. All fees enumerated herein shall be paid to the Town Clerk of the Town of Owasso. The contractor and person for whom plumbing is installed, extended or repaired. shall be jointly charged with payment of the fees enumerated herein. SECTION 4-B FIXTURES DEFINED AS USED IN PLUMBING CODE Unless specifically given under meaning, the word "Fixture" as used in this Code shall refer and mean any receptical, device, appliance or appurtenance that is connected to or which receives water from the public water supply system, or discharging liquids or liquid waste to a public or private sewer system, or terminal thereof, ad shall also include gas lines, builtin stoves, heaters and heating systems, operated by gas, oil or ohter combustable substance, unless the text should appear to mean otherwise. SECTION 4-C REPAIRS -- FEES. Any repairs or extensions of any part of the plumbing or darinage system within any building and where there is a change in a sewer-connected pipe shall be subject to inspection. A fee of $2.00 shall be charged for such inspection. EMERGENCY: WHEREAS present conditions exist which constitute an immediat threat to the safety of persons and property and the peace, safety, health and welfare of the general public within the Town of Owasso, an emergency exists for the preservation of public peace, heatlth, safety and welfare, by reason whereof this ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage as provided by law. Emergency Clause voted upon separately and passed unanimous vote of the Board of Trustees this 17th day of January, 1966.
