HomeMy WebLinkAbout074_Water Rates_Amending part of Ord 29ORDINANCE NUMBER 74 AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO WATER SERVICE AND WATER RATES AND CHARGES FOR THE TOWN OF OWASSO; ESTABLISHING MINIMUM WATER RATES; AMENDING SECTION NINE (9) OF ORDINANCE NUMBER TWENTY-NINE (29) OF THE TOWN OF OWASSO, OKLAHOMA, DATED JULY 18 1961; ADDING THERETO SECTION DESIGNATED AS SECTION NINE-A (9-A); DECLARING ALL OTHER ORDINANCES OR PARTS THEREOF IN CONFLICT WITH THIS ORDINACE TO BE REPEALED; DECLARING ALL OTHER ORDINANCES RELATING TO WATER SERVICES, RATES AND CHARGES, NOT IN CONFLICT WITH THIS ORDINANCE, TO REMAIN UNCHANGED, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE TOWN OF OWASSO, OKLAHOMA: SECTION 1. That Section Nine (9) of Ordinance Twenty-nine (29) dated July 18,1961, of the Town of Owasso, Oklahoma, amending CHapter Two (2) of Title Fourteen (14) of the Revised Ordinances of The Town of Owasso, 1957, be amended to provide and read as follows: "Section Nine (9). WATER RATES AND CHARGES. The rates per month for water supplied through meters to all single unit places using water within the Town of Owasso, shall be as follows: 1. On the First one thousand gallons or less, Two dollars and Twenty-five Cents ($2.25) per thousand; 2.On the second one thousand gallons or fraction thereof, Seventy-five Cents ($.75) per thousand; 3. On the third one thousand gallons or fraction thereof, Sixty Cents ($.60) per thousand; 4. Over threee thousand gallons, Fifty Cents ($.50) per thousand. "Section Nine-A. MINIMUM RATES: The minimum monthly charge for all water service, within The Town of Owasso, shall be as follows: 1.Where one family or business unit uses or is connnected to water service, a minimum charge of $2.25 per month shall be made. 2.Where two or more family units or seperate business units are connected to be supplied with water, registered through a singer meter, $2.25 per month for each unit shall be charged, without regard as to whether or not any such unit or units be vacant, used or occupied." All other ordinances or parts thereof in conflic with this ordinance are hereby repealed, and all other provisions of said Ordinance 29 and all provisions of Title 14 of the Revised Ordinances of The Town of Owasso,Oklahoma, 1957, as amended, not in conflict with this Ordinance shall remain unchanged and in full force and effect. SECTION 2. EMERGENCY That bebcause of hte existing conditions constituting an immediate threat to the safety of persoons and property and to the public welfare, and for the preservation of public health, peace and safety and for the futherance of the public health, and by reason whre of an emergency ecists, by reason whereof, this ordinance shall take affect from and after its approval and passage as provided by law. EMERGENCY CLAUSE voted upon separately and passed by uanimous vote of the Board of Trustees this 21st day of March, 1966.
