HomeMy WebLinkAbout081_Water Rates_Amends Part of Ord 79AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO WATER SERVICE AND WATER RATES AND CHARGES FOR THE TOWN OF OWASSO; AMENDING PARTS OF ORDINANCE NUMBERED 79 BY FURTHER PROVIDING SPECIAL WATER RATES AND CHARGES AND MINIMUM RATES FOR COMMERCIAL, BUSINESS AND INDUSTRIAL USAGE AND WATER SERVICE; DECLARING ALL OTHER ORDINANCES RELATING TO WATER SERVICE, RATES AND CHARGES, NOT IN CONFLICT WITH THIS ORDINANCE, TO REMAIN UNCHANGED AND DECLATING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE TOWN OF OWASSO, OKLAHOMA: SECTION 1. Amending Section 2 of Ordinance 79, by Adding subsection. That Section Two (2) of Ordinance 79 and Section 1 of Ordinance 74, as amended August 15, 1966, amending Ordinance Twenty-nine Dated July 18, 1961, as amended by adding to "Section 9" as amended August 15, 1966, as 'subsection 6', as follows: " 6. Commercial, Business or Industrial establishments, having an established three month average usage of 150,000 gallons of water , other than residential usage, the rates for monthly water service and water supplied shall be as follows: a.On the First One Thousand gallons or lwss, Five Dollars ($5.00), plus: b. Seventy-five Cents ($0.75) per thousand gallons or fraction thereof for an additional Nine Thousand gallons, plus: c. Fifty Cents ($0.50) per thousand gallons or fraction there of for the next Ninety Thousand gallons (90,000 gal.) plus, d. Forty Cents ($0.40) per thousand gallons or fraction there of for additional water used in excess of One Hundred Thousand (100,000) gallons." SECTION 2. Amending Section 2 of Ordinance 79, by Adding Subsection. That Section Two (2) of Ordinance 79 and Section One (1) of Ordinance 74, as amended August 15, 1966, amending Ordinance Twenty-nine, Dated July 18, 1961, as amended by adding to "Section 9-A" as amended August 15, 1966, as "subsection 4', as follows: "4. In lieu of the minimum rates herein provided for residences and apartment houses containing six (6) or more family units, commercial, business and/or industrial establishments shall pay a minimum monthly change for water service and usage the sum of Five Dollars ($5.00)." SECTION 3. NON-CONFLICTING ORDINANCES OR PARTS THEREOF TO REMAIN IN AFFECT. All other ordinances or parts ther of in conflict with this ordinance are hereby repealed, as same may conflict with this ordinance, number 81, and all other provisions of said Ordinances 79, Ordinance 29 and all provisions of Title 14 of the Revised Ordinance shall remain in full force and affect. SECTION 4. EMERGENCY That because of existing conditions constituting an immediate threat to the safety of persons and propety and to the public welfare, adn to the affect a more equitable manner of making water charges and avoid hardships, and fore the preservation of the public health, peace and safety and the furtherance of the public health and welfare, and by reason whereof an emergency exists, this ordinance shall take affect from and after its approval and passage as provided by law. EMERGENCY CLAUSE voted on seperately and passed by unanaimous vote of the Board of Trustees this 17th day of October, 1966.
