HomeMy WebLinkAbout085_North School Second_adding and AnnexingORDINANCE NUMBER 85 AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING, ADDING AND ANNEXING TO THE TOWN OF OWASS, OKLAHOMA, A PARCEL OF LAND DESCRIBED AS THE SOUTHWEST QUARTER (SW 1/4) OF THE NORTHEAST QUARTER (NE 1/4) OF THE SOUTH WEST QUARTER (SW 1/4) OF THE SOUTHEAST QUARTER (SE 1/4) LESS THE SOUTH 132 FEET THEREOF, AND THE SOUTH 256.7 FEET OF THE NORTH HALF (N 1/2) OF THE NORTHEAST QUARTER (NE 1/4) OF THE SOUTHWEST QUARTER (SW 1/4) OF THE SOUTHEAST QUARTER (SE 1/4), ALL IN SECTION NINETEEN (19), TOWNSHIP TWENTY- ONE (21) NORTH, RANGE FOURTEEN (14) EAST OF THE INDIAN BASE AND MERIDIAN, IN TULSA COUNTY, OKLAHOMA, ACCORDING TO THE UNITED STATE SURVEY THEREOF; DECLARING THE EFFECTIVE DATE OF SUCH ANNEXATION TO BE JANUARY 5, 1967; PROVIDED THAT FROM AND AFTER THE AFFECTIVE DATE OF THIS ORDINANCE ALL OF SAID REAL ESTATE SHALL BE A PART OF THE TOWN OF OWASSO, OKLAHOMA, AND ALL PERSONS RESIDING THEREIN AND ALL PROPERTY SITUATED THEREON SHALL BE SUBJECT TO THE JURISDICTION, CONTROL AND ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN OF OWASSO, OKLAHOMA IN ALL RESPECTS AND PARTICULARS; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE TOWN OF OWASSO, OKLAHOMA: THAT WHEREAS a petition has been filed by the Owasso School District Number 1-11, Board of Education, by and through Bill R. Garner, as superintendant, joined and attested by its Clerk of said board, A. B. Fields, as sole owner, petitioning and requesting that the following described real property, to-wit: "The Southwest Quarter (SW 1/4) of the Northeast Quarter (NE 1/4) of the southwest Quarter (SW 1/4) of the southeast Quarter (SE 1/4) less the South 132 feet thereof, and the South 256.7 Feet of the North One-half (N 1/2) of the Northeast Quarter (NE 1/4) of the southwest Quarter (SW 1/4) of the Southeast Quarter (SE 1/4), all in Section Nineteen (19), Township Twenty-one (21) North, Range Fourteen (14) East of the Indian Base and Meridian, in Tulsa County, Oklahoma, according to the United States survey thereof, be accepted, added and annexed to The Town of Owasso, Oklahoma; and, notice of presentation of said petition having been duly and regulary given and published once in each week for two successive weeks in the Tulsa County News, a newspaper fully qualified under the laws of the State of Oklhaoma for such publication, published nearest to The Town of Owass, Oklahoma, and proof of publication having been duly filed all as required by law, AND, WHEREAS saiddescribed property is adjacent to the present boundary line of the corporate limits of the said Town of Owasso, and it is to the mutual advantage, benefit and welfare of the Town of Owasso, Oklahoma, and the said Board of Education, Owasso School District Number 1-11, the sole owner thereof, that said petition be allowed and the request granted, AND, WHEREAS there appears no opposition to the granting of the request of said petition, NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDAINED AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That the request and petition of the Board of Education, Owasso School District Number 1-11, herein referred to, be and the same is granted and allowd Section 2. That the following Tract and parcel of land, to-wit: "The Southwest Quarter (SW 1/4) of the Northeast Quarter (NE 1/4) of the southwest Quarter (SW 1/4) of the southeast Quarter (SE 1/4) less the South 132 feet thereof, and the South 256.7 Feet of the North One-half (N 1/2) of the Northeast Quarter (NE 1/4) of the southwest Quarter (SW 1/4) of the Southeast Quarter (SE 1/4), all in Section Nineteen (19), Township Twenty-one (21) North, Range Fourteen (14) East of the Indian Base and Meridian, in Tulsa County, Oklahoma, according to the United States survey thereof, be accepted, added and annexed to The Town of Owasso, Oklahoma; and, notice of presentation having been lawfully given as provided by law, same is hereby admitted to and taken into the corporate limits of The Town of Owasso, State of Oklahoma. Section 3. That from and after the eccective date of this ordinance, all of said real estate described herein shall be a part of The Town of Owasso, State of Oklahoma, and all persons residing therein and all property situated thereon shall be subject to the jurisdiction, control and ordinances of The Town of Owasso, Oklaoma, in all respects and particulars. Section 4. EMERGENCY -- That by reason of said school buildings and premises being without adequate police and fire protection, an emergency exists for the preservation of the public health, peace, safety and welfare, by reason whereof this ordinance, Number 85, shall take affect, and become from and after its passage and approval, effective, as provided by law. EMERGENCY CLAUSE voted upon separately and passed by unanimous vote of the Board of Trustees this 5th day of January, 1967. PASSED by the Board of trustees of The Town of Owasso, Oklahoma, this 5th day of January, 1967, and APPROVED by the President of the Board of Trustees of The Town of Owasso, Oklahoma, on this 5th day of January, 1967.
