AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO KEEPING OF CERTAIN ANIMALS WITHIN THE TOWN LIMITS OF THE TOWN
OF OWASSO, OKLAHOMA, AND PRESCRIBING SANITATION RULES PERTAINING THERETO; REQUIRING AND
DESCRIBING NCLOSUES OR CORRALS, WHEREIN SUCH ANIMAL S SHALL BE CONFINED; ESTABLISHING
MINIMUM SIZE OF ENCLOSURES OR CORRALS, WHEREIN SUCH ANIMALS SHALL BE CONFINED; ESTABLISHING
SECTION THIRTEEN (13), CHAPTER TWO (2) OF THE REVISED ORDINANCES FOR THE TOWN OF OWASSO,
OKLAHOMA, 1957; REQUIRING DAILY REMOVAL OF TRASH AND ANIMAL EXCREMENT, AND DISPOSAL THEREOF;
PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR VIOLATIONS; MAKING EACH DAY A SPEARARTE VIOLATION, AND DELCARING AN
EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUESTEES OF THE TOWN OF OWASSO, OKLAHOMA:
SECTION 1. AMENDING SECTION 13, OF CHAPTER 2 OF THE REVISED ORDINANCES FOR THE TOWN
OF OWASSO, OKLAHOMA, 1957.
That Section Thirettn (13) of Chapter Two (2) of the Revised Ordinances for the Town of
Owasso, Oklahoma, be, after the passage and approval of this Ordinance, Number 90, amended
and made to read as follows;
"Section 13. COES, BULLS, HORSES AND OTHER ANIMALS. It shall be unlawful and an
offence for any person to keep or maintain, or to permit or suffer to be kept or maintained,
a cow, bull, or any animal for the bovine species, or a horse, or any other animal of the
Equidae Family, upon any property or premises within the corporate limits of the Town of Owasso,
Oklhaoma, EXCEPT as hereafter permitted, regulated and provided:
a. Animals Permitted To Be Kept In Town. One cow, horse, Shetland pony, mule, or
female goat may be kept in any pen, lot, corral or enclosure of not less than 64,000 square
feet in area, PROVEDED:
1. that the owner of person in charge of such animal, mentioned in subsection "a"
hereof, shall provide fences or barriers of such height and sufficient strenth
as may be necessary to prevent the escape of such animal from such pen, corral
or enclosure.
2. That any owner or person in charge of the premises upon which any animal is
permitted to be kept by the provisions of this ordinance, shall not keep or
permity more than one animal to be penned or confined thereon at any one time.
3. that the owner or person in charge of premises where, or of the animal which
is permitted, by this ordinance, to be penned or confined thereon, much maintain
such prmises in a sanitary condition not offensive or dangerous to the
public, and must clean or cause to be cleaned, each day, the said premises,
and remove and dispose of all trash, refuse, rubbish and animal excrement,
following each day an animal is kept, penned or contained in or upon such
premises.
"Section 13.1 PENALTY. Any person or persons who violate any provisions of this section
of fails to comply with any of the rules, regulations or requirement thereof, shall be guilty
of an offense and upon conviction thereof shall be subject to a fine not exceeding the sum of
Twenty ($20.00) Dollars, including the costs, and each and every day any provision, rules,
regulation or requirement is violated or not complied with shall constitute a separate offense.
The abatement of a nuisance shall not be a defense in any prosecution."
SECTION 2. EMERGENCY. That by reson of an existing danger to sanitation within the Town
of Owasso, and of conditions constituting an immediate threat to the safety of persons and
property and to the public health and welfare, and for the preservation of the public health,
peach and safety and yb reson thereof an emergency is delcared to exist, and this ordinance
shall therefore take affect from and after its approval and passage as provided by law.
EMERGENCY CLAUSE voted upon separately and passed by unanimous vote this 17th day of April, 1967.

published in all ediions of said newspaper and not in a
supplement thereof.
