HomeMy WebLinkAbout111_J Ray Smith Property_Owasso Lumber Co_AnnexedORDINANCE NUMBER 111 AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING INTO AND ANNEXING TO THE TOWN OF OWASSO, OKLAHOMA, A PARCEL OF LAND IN THE SOUTHWEST QUARTER (SW1/4) OF THE NORTHEAST QUARTER (NE1/4) OF SECTION 31, TOWNSHIP 21 NORTH, RANGE 14 EAST OF THE INDIAN BASE AND MERIDIAN, IN TULSA COUNTY, OKLAHOMA, ALL MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED THEREIN; DECLARING THE AFFECTIVE DATE OF ANNEXATION, AFTER WHICH DATE ALL OF THE SAID REAL EASTATE SHALL BE A PART OF THE TOWN OF OWASSO, OKLAHOMA, AND ALL PERSONS RESIDING THEREIN AND ALL PROPERTY THEREON SITUATED SHALL BE SUBJECT TO THE JURISDICTION AND ORDINANCES OF THE TOWN OF OWASSO, OKALHOMA, IN ALL RESPECTS ANDPARTICULARS, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE TOWN OF OWASSO, OKLAHOMA,: THAT WEREAS a petition has been filed and presented by J. R. smith and the Owasso Lumber Company, a corporation, by and through J. R. Smith, as President, joined and attested by its Secretary, Vernon W. Lewis, as the sole and only owners, petitioning and requesting that the following described real property, to-wit: A Tract of land beginning at the Northeast Corner of the Northeast Quarter (NE1/4) of the Southwest Quarter (SE1/4) of the Northeast Quarter (NE1/4), thence Southerly along the East line a distance of 700.00 feet, thence West and parallel with the North line of said land described a distance of 425.00 feet, thence North and parrallel to the East line of said tract 600. 00 feet, thence East a distance of 100.00 feet, thence North a distance of 100.00, feet, thence East a distance of 325.00 feet to the point of beginning, except for the East 25 feet dedicated for roadway, all in Section 31, Township 21 North, Range 14 East, in Tulsa County, Oklahoma, be accepted into, added and annexed to The town of Owasso, Oklahoma; and, notice of presentation of said petition having been duly and regulary given and published once in each week for two consecutive weeks in the Owasso Reporter, a newspaper qualified under the laws of the State of Oklahoma for such publication, published in The Town of Owasso, Oklahoma, and proof of publication having been filed all as required by law, and, WHEREAS said described property is adjacent to and abutting the present boundary line of the corporate limits of the Town of Owasso, and it is to the nutual adavantage, benefit and welfare of The Town of Owasso, Oklahoma, and the said J. Ray Smith and the Owasso Lumber Company a corporation, the sole and only owners thereof, that said petition be allowed and granted, and WHEREAS THERE APPEARS NO OPPOSITION to the granting of the request of said petition, NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDAINED AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That the request and petition of J. Ray Smith and the Owasso Lumber Company, a corporateion, herein referred to, be and the same is granted and allowed. Section 2. That the following tract and parcel of land, to-wit: A Tract of land beginning at the Northeast Corner of the Northeast Quarter (NE1/4) of the Southwest Quarter (SE1/4) of the Northeast Quarter (NE1/4), thence Southerly along the East line a distance of 700.00 feet, thence West and parallel with the North line of said land described a distance of 425.00 feet, thence North and parrallel to the East line of said tract 600. 00 feet, thence East a distance of 100.00 feet, thence North a distance of 100.00, feet, thence East a distance of 325.00 feet to the point of beginning, except for the East 25 feet dedicated for roadway, all in Section 31, Township 21 North, Range 14 East, in Tulsa County, Oklahoma, be and the same is hereby admitted, added to and annexed to and taken into the corporate limits of The town of Owasso, State of Oklahoma. Section 3. That this Ordinance shall become affective on the 17th day of March, 1969, after which date all real estate described herein shall be a part of The Town of Owasso, Oklahoma, and all real estate and all persons residing therein, and all property situated thereon shall be subject to the jurisdiction and ordinances of The Town of Owasso, Oklahoma, in all respects and particulars. Section 4. That there is existing conditions which require the establishment of adequate police and sanitation control, and an emergency exists for the preservation of the public safety, health, peace and welfare, by reason whereof an emergency is declared to exist and this Ordinance shall take affect immediately from and after its passage and approval, as provided by law. PASSED by the Board of Trustees of The Town of Owasso, Oklahoma, and Approved by the President of the Board of Trustees of said Town of Owasso, on this 17th day of March , 1969, with the Emergency Clause voted upon separately and passed by unanimous vote of said Board of Trustees.
