HomeMy WebLinkAbout147_Conservation of Water SupplyORDINANCE NO. 147 AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE CONSERVATION OF THE TOWN WATER SUPPLY; PUBLIC NOTIFICATION; PENALTIES FOR VIOLATIONS; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE TOWN OF OWASSO, OKLAHOMA: Section 1. AUTHORIZATION TO INVOKE REGULATIONS. The President of the Board of Trustees is hereby authorized to invoke any emergency regulations deemed necessary to conserve the Town Water supply, in such manner and for such period of time as he deems to be in the best interest of the Town. Such regulations shall be effective from and after the time copies thereof are posed in five (5) prominant places in the Town. Further, such regulatinos shall be published one (1) time in Town newspaper as soon as practicable after their promulgation. Section 2. VIOLATIONS. Any person found guilty of violating posted regulations shall, upon conviction, be fined a sum of money not exceeding $20.00, including costs. Section 3. EMERGENCY CLAUSE. Whereas, it being immediately necessary for the preservation of the peace, health and safety of the Town of Owasso and the inhabitants thereof, that the provisions of this Ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage, as provided by law. Emergency Clause voted upon separately and passed by unanimous vote of the Board of Trustees this 19th day of June, 1972.
