HomeMy WebLinkAbout195_German Corner AnnexedORDINANCE NO 195 AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING, ADDING AND ANNEXING TO THE CITY OF OWASSO, OKLAHOMA, ADDITIONAL LANDS AND TERRITORY, PROVIDING THAT FROM AND AFTER THE PASSAGE AND PUBLICATION OF THIS ORDINANCE THAT ALL OF THE REAL PROPERTY WITHIN SAID TERRITORY HEREIN DESCRIBED SHALL BE A PART OF THE CITY OF OWASSO, OKLAHOMA, AND FURTHER DECLARING THAT ALL PERSONS RESIDING THEREIN SHALL BE SUBJECT TO THE JURISDICTION, CONTROL, LAWS AND ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF OWASSO, OKLAHOMA, ESTABLISHING THE SAME AS PART OF WARD 5 OF SAID CITY, DIRECTING THE FILING OF AN ORDINANCE AND A PLAT THEREOF; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Section 482, et seq ®, Title 11, Oklahoma Statutes, there was presented to the City Council of the City of Owasso, Oklahoma, a Petition in writing, signed by not less than three-fourths of the legal voters and by the owners of not less than three-fourths (in value) of the pro- perty hereinafter described, the same being contiguous to the corporate limits of the City of Owasso, requesting that said property be annexed and added to the City of Owasso; and WHEREAS, notice of the presentation of said Petition was given by the Petitioner by publication in the Owasso Reporter, a newspaper of general circulation published in the City of Owasso, Oklahoma, and notice was given that said Petition would be con- sidered by the City Council of the City of Owasso, at a meeting to be held on the 24th day of August, 1976, at 7:30 o'clock P.M ®, at City Hall, Owasso, Oklahoma; and WHEREAS, on the 24th day of August, 1976, said Petition was duly considered by the City Council and was determined to have complied with the provisions of Section 482, et seq., Title 11, Oklahoma Statutes, and further, that proper lc=gal notice of the presentation of said Petition had been given by the Petitioner; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Owasso has determined that the annexation of the property hereinafter described is necessary, reasonable and desirable and in the public interest of the residents and citizens of City of Owasso® NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY SECTION 1® That the following described territory lying in Tulsa County, Oklahoma which is contiguous to the present corp- orate limits of the City of Owasso and described in the Petition presented to the City Council in accordance with the provisions of Section 482, et seq ®, Title 11, Oklahoma Statutes, and more part- icularly described as follows, to-wit: The South 50 feet of Section 1 and the North 50 feet of Section 12, all in Township 21 North, Range 13 East of the I. B. & M ®, and the South 50 feet of Section 6, and the North 50 feet of Section 7, and the North 790 feet of the NE4 of NE1-a of Section 7, all in Town- ship 21 North, Range 14 East of the I. B. & M ®, all in Tulsa County, Oklahoma, according to the United States Government Survey thereof, be and the same is hereby annexed to, made a part of, and added to the City of Owasso, Oklahoma, and the corporate limits thereof be and are hereby extended to include the above described territory and real estate® SECTION 2® That from and after the passage and publica- tion of this Ordinance, the real estate and territory described in Section 1 hereof shall be a part of the City of Owasso, Oklahoma and in Ward 5 thereof, and all Persons residing therein, and all property situated thereon, shall be and are hereby declared to be subject to the jurisdiction, control, laws and ordinances of the City of Owasso, Oklahoma, in all respects and particulars® SECTION 3® That there be filed in the office of the County Clerk of Tulsa County, Oklahoma, a true and correct copy of this Ordinance, together with an accurate map of the territory hereby annexed® SECTION 4® That for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, an emergency is found and declared to exist by reason whereof this Ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage, approval and publication® PASSED, approved and adopted, and the emergency clause ruled and voted upon separately and approved this _24th day of August p 1976® APPROVED this 24th day of _ August , 1976.
