HomeMy WebLinkAbout207_Prohibiting Possession of Non Intoxicating Alcoholic Beverages by MinorsORDINANCE NO. 207 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 2, SECTION 2-35 OF THE OWASSO CITY CODE (1973) , PROHIBITING POSSESSION BY MINOR OF NON- INTOXICATING ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES;AND, DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OWASSO, OKLAHOMA; SECTION 1. That Chapter 2, Section 2-35 of the Owasso City Code (1973) which presently provides: "Sec® 2-35. Possession by minor of non - intoxicating alcoholic beverages. It shall be unlawful and an offense for any male person, under the age of twenty-one (21) years, or any female person, under the age of eighteen (18) years, to be in possession of any non-intoxicating alcoholic beverage or beer of 3 ®2 percent or less percent by weight or to carry on his or her person or in any vehicle which he or she is operating, or in 7Which he or she is riding as a passenger, any non-intoxicating alcoholic beverage or beer of 3.2 or less percent by weight, unless such person is accompanied by his parents or legal guardian." be -repealed and the following revision of said Section shall be enacted in lieu thereof: "Sec. 2-35. ' Possession by minor of non-intoxicating alcoholic beverages. It shall be unlawful and an offense for any person under the age of eighteen (18) years to be in pos- session of any non-intoxicating alcoholic beverage or beer of 3 ®2 percent or less percent by weight or to carry on his or her person or in any vehicle which he or she is operating, or in 'which he or she is riding as a passenger, any non- intoxicating alcoholic beverage or beer of 3.2 or less percent by weight, unless such person is accompanied by his or her parents or legal guardian ®" SECTION 2. It being immediately necessary for the preser- vation of the public peace, health and safety, an emergency is hereby declared to exist, by reason whereof, this Ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
