ORDINANCE PERTAINING TO THE FIRE PPillVENTION CODE OF THE
OF OWASSO; ESTABLISHING THE NATIONAL FIRE PROTECTION
ASSOCIATION CODE AS THE FIRE PREVENTION CODE FOR THE CITY
OF SO; M~NDING CHAPTER 8, ARTICLE 1, OWASSO CITY CODE
SECTIONS 8-1 AND 8-2 THEREOF; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY
lVHEREAS, The City of Owasso, Oklahoma, pursuant to Chapter
8, Article 1, Owasso City Code, Section 8-1 adopted a certain
code kno~m as the Fire Prevention Code recommended by the
American Insurance Association as its Fire Prevention Code and
vITIEREAS, The aforementioned recommended Code is no longer
adequate for the protection of the public peace, health and
safety of the community; and
~VHEREAS, The National Fire Protection Association Code
is adequate for the preservation of public peace, health and
safety of the community

Section 1 That
presently reads:
IISec. 8-1. Adoption of Fire Prevention Code.
There is hereby adopted by the city council for the purpose
of prescribing regulations governing conditions hazardous
to life and property from fire or explosion, that certain
code kno\VTI as Fire Prevention Code recommended by the
American Insurance Association, being particularly the
current edition thereof, and the whole thereof, save and
except such portions as are hereinafter deleted, modified,
or amended by this chapter of this code, of which Fire
Prevention Code not less than three (3) copies have been
and now are filed in the office of the city clerk; and the
said code is hereby adopted and incorporated as fully as
if set out at length herein; and from the date on which
this code shall take effect, the provisions thereof shall
be contra thin the limits of the City

There is hereby adopted by the city council for the purposes
of prescribing regulations governing conditions hazardous
to life and property from fire or explosion that certain
code known as The National Fire Protection Association Code
of which not less than three (3) copies are to be filed
