HomeMy WebLinkAbout252_Larkin Bailey AnnexationORDINANCE NO. 252 AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING, ADDING AND ANNEXING TO THE CITY OF OWASSO, OKLAHOMA, ADDITIONAL LANDS AND TERRITORY, PROVIDING THAT FROM AND AFTER THE PASSAGE AND PUBLICATION OF THIS ORDINANCE THAT ALL OF THE REAL PROPERTY WITHIN SAID TERRITOY HEREIN DESCRIBED SHALL BE A PART OF THE CITY OF OWASSO, OKLAHOMA, AND FURTHER DECLARING THAT ALL PERSONS RESIDING THEREIN SHALL BE SUBJECT TO THE JURISDICTION, CONTROL, LAWS AND ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF OWASSO, OKLAHOMA, ESTABLISHING THAT SAME AS PART OF WARD 5 OF SAID CITY, DIRECTING THE FILING OF THIS ORDINANCE AND A PLAT THEREOF, AND DECLRING AN EMERGENCY WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Title 11, Section 21-101, et seq., of the Oklahoma Municipal Code, the City of Owasso is permitted to annex additional territory with the written consent of the owners of at least a majority of the acres to be annexed; and 1,E1EREAS, a majority of the owners of the following described property adjacent to, or abutting on, property already within the Corporate Limits of the City of Owasso, Oklahoma, to-wit: A tract of land located in the Northeast Quarter (NE/4) of the Northwest Quarter (NW/4) of Section Thirty-one (31), Township Twenty-one (21) North, Range Fourteen (14) East of the Indian Base and Meridian in Tulsa County, State of Oklahoma, according to the United States Government Survey thereof, more particularly described as follows: Beginning at a point on the North line of said NE/4 of the NW/4 of Section 31, said point lying 200 feet West from the intersection of the Westerly Right of Way of the Atchison Topeka and Santa Fe Railway and the said North line of the NE/4 of the NW/4 of Section 31, said intersection point being 150 feet Westerly, as measured along a line radial to the centerline, of the main track of said Railway; thence West along said North line of the NE/4 of the NW /4 of Section 31 a distance of 987 feet more or less to the Northwest corner thereof; thence South along the West line of said NE/4 of the NW/4 of Section 31 a distance of 417042 feet to a point; thence East and parallel to the said North line of the NE/4 of the NE/4 of Section 31 a distance of 987 feet more or lesss to apoint; thence North along a line perpendicular to the said North line a distance of 417.42 feet to the point of Beginning, containing 9.46 acres, more or less. WHREAS, the City Council of the City of Owasso has determined that the annexation of the property hereinabove described is necessary, reasonable and desirable in the public interest of the residents and citizens of the City of Owasso; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OWASSO Section 1. Section 3. That there be filed in the Office of the County Clerk of Tulsa County, Oklahoma, a true and correct copy of this ordinance, together with an accurate map of the territory hereby annexed. Section 4. That for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, an emergency is found and declared to exist by reason whereof this ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage, approval and publication.
