AN ORDINANCE A114ENDING CHAPTER 9 ' ARTICLE 1,
SECTION 9-2 OF THE OWASSO CITY CODE, PROVIDING
FOR MANDATORY REFUSE COLLECTION BY PERSONS
OCCUPYING RESIDENTIAL OR COMMERCIAL PREMISES,
AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCILMEN OF THE
CITY OF OWASSO, OKLAHOMA:
That Chapter 9, Article 1, Section 9-2 be, and the
same is hereby, amended to read as follows:
Sec. 9-2. Duty to request garbage service, mandatory.
It shall be the duty of every person occupying or
having control of the occupancy of any residential or
commercial premises located within the corporate limits of
the City of Owasso to request, at the beginning of such
occupancy or on or before the effective date of this article,
garbage pickup service; provided, however, that failure of
any owner, rental agent or occupant of such premises to
make such request shall not prevent nor in any way impair
or impede the said city or the designated city trash collector
from adding the address of such premises to the proper
garbage collection route records and providing said service
and otherwise enforcing by appropriate action the regulatory
measures herein prescribed and causing the fee or charge
therefor to be paid,
Emergency Clause: By reason of the need for the
mediate preservation of the peace, health and safety,
an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this Ordinance
shall be effective immediately upon its adoption,
PASSED AND APPROVED and the emergency clause ruled
upon separately this day ofd. 1979 .
