HomeMy WebLinkAbout263_Adopting BOCA Mechanical CodeORDINANCE NO. 263 AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING MINIMUM STANDARDS FOR THE DESIGN AND INSTALLATION OF MECHANICAL SYSTEMS, INCLUDING HEATING SYSTEMS, VENTILATING SYSTEMS, COOLING SYSTEMS, STEAM AND OT WATER HEATING SYSTEMS, PROCESS PIPING BOILERS, UTILIZING CAS FUEL, LIQUID FUEL, SOLID FUEL OR ELECTRICAL, POWER, CHIMNEYS AND VENTS, MECHANICAL REFRIGERATION SYSTEMS, FIREPLACES, BARDEQUES, INCINERATORS, CREMATORIES, FIRE PROTECTION SYSTEMS AND AIR POLLUTION CONTROL SYSTEMS; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY, AS FOLLOWS: DE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCILMEN OF THE CITY OF OWASSO, OKLAHOMA. Section 1. Adoption of Mechanical Code. That a certain document, three 1.3) copies of which are on file in the Office of the City Clerk of the City of Owasso, Oklahoma, being narked and designated as "The DOCA Dade Mechanical Code, Third Edition, 1978", as published by The Building Officials and Code Administrators Internationals Inc., be and is hereby adopted as the Mechanical Code of the City of Owasso, in the State of Oklahoma; for the control of buildings and structures as herein provided; and each and all of the regulations, provisions, penalties, conditions, and terms of the DOCA Basic Mechanical Cade, Third Edition, 1978, are hereby referred to, adopted and -made a part .hereof, as if fully set out in this Ordinance, with the additions, insertions, dele- tions and changes, if any, prescribed in Section 3 of this Ordinance, Section 2. INCONSISTENT ORDINANCES REPEALED. All ordinances or warts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed Section 3. ADDITIONS, INSERTIONS AND CHANGES. That the following sections are hereby revised as follows Section -100.1 (page 1, second line). Insert "City of Owasso." Section M-114 ®2 (pace 8, third line). Insert "Fees to be set by City Council from time to time". Section M-111.4.3 (pace 8, third line). Insert. SAVING CLAUSE: That nothing in this Ordinance or in the Mechanical Code hereby adopted shall be construed to affect any suit or proceeding impending in any court, or any rights acquitted, or liability incurred, or any cause or causes of action acquired or existing, under any act or ordinance hereby repealed as cited in Section 2 of this Ordinance; nor shall any just or legal right or remedy of any character be lost, impaired or affected by this Ordinance. Section 5 EMERGENCY CLAUSE. An emergency is hereby declared to exist for the preser- vation of the public peace, health and safety, by reason whereof this Ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after its passage, approval and publication.
