HomeMy WebLinkAbout280_Annexing Westport Mennonite Churchannexing Westport Mennonite Church CITY OF OWASSO, OKLAHOMA ORDINANCE NO. 280 AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING, ADDING AND ANNEXING TO THE CITY OF OWASSO, OKLAHOMA, ADDITIONAL LANDS AND TERRITORY, PROVIDING THAT FROM AND AFTER THE PASSAGE AND PUBLICATION OF THIS ORDINANCE THAT ALL OF THE REAL PROPERTY WITHIN SAID TERRITORY HEREIN DESCRIBED SHALL BE A PART OF THE CITY OF OWASSO, OKLAHOMA, AND FURTHER DECLARING THAT ALL PERSONS RESIDING THERIN SHALL BE SUBJECT TO THE JURISDICTION, CONTROL, LAWS AND ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF OWASSO, OKLAHOMA, ESTABLISHING THE SAME AS A PART OF WARD OF SAID CITY, DIRECTING THE FILING OF THIS ORDINANCE AND A PLAT THEREOF. WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Title 11, Section 2 1, et seq., of the Oklahoma Municipal Code, the City of Owasso is permitted to annex additional territory with the written consent of the owners of at least a majority of the acres to be annexed; and WHEREAS, a majority of the owners of the following described property adjacent to, or abutting on, property already within the Corporate Limits of the City of Owasso, Oklahoma, to-wit: Beginning at the Southeast corner of the Southeast quarter of the Southeast quarter of Section 6, Town- ship 21 North, Range 14 East of the Indian Base and Meridian, thence West along the South line of said Section, a distance of rods, thence North parallel with the East line of said Section 6, a distance of 20 rods; thence East parallel with the South line of said Section 6, a distance of 40 rods to a point in the East line of said Section 6; thence South along the East line of said Section, a distance of 20 rods to the point of beginning, in Tulsa County, State of Oklahoma, to said property to annex having petitioned the City of Owasso City of Owasso, and, WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Owasso has deter- mined that the annexation of the property hereinabove described is necessary, reasonable and desirable in the public interest of the residents and citizens of the City of Owasso NOW, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF THEREFORE OWASSO: of SECTION 1. That pursuant to the petition of a majority the owners of the following described property lying in Tulsa County, Oklahoma, which territory is adjacent to or abutting property already within the Corporater Limits of the City of Owasso, to-wit: Beginning at the Southeast corner of the Southeast quarter of the Southeast quarter of Section 6, Town- ship 21 North, Range 14 East of the Indian Base and Meridian, thence West along the South line of said Section, a distance of 40 rods; thence North parallel with the East line of said Section 6, a distance of 20 rods; thence East parallel with the South line of said Section 6, a distance of 40 rods to a point in the East line of said Section 6; thence South along the East line of said Section, a distance of 20 rods to the point of beginning, in Tulsa County, State of Oklahoma, Ordinance No 280 Page same is hereby, annexed to, made a part of, and to the City of Owasso, Oklahoma, and the Corporate Limits thereof be and are hereby extended to include the above des- crib territory and real estate. SECTION 2. That from and after the passage and publication of this Ordinance, the real estate and territory described in Sect 1 hereof shall be a part of the City of Owasso, Okla- homa, and Ward thereof, and all persons residing therein, and 1 erty situated thereon, shall be and are hereby de- clared to e subject to the jurisdiction, control, laws and ordinances of the City of Owasso, Oklahoma, in all respects and particulars. SECTION 3. That there be filed in the Office of the County Clerk of Tulsa County, Oklahoma, a true and correct copy of this ordinance, together with an accurate map of the territory hereby annexed. Itetherford, of lawful age, being duly sworn and authorized, says that he is publisher of the weekly newspaper printed in the City of Tulsa County, Oklahoma, a newspaper qualified to publish legal notices, advertisements and publications as provided in Section 106 of Title 25, Oklahoma Statutes 1971 as amended, and complies with all other requirements of thy: laws of Oklahoma with reference to legal public- ations.
