HomeMy WebLinkAbout284_Wood Shingles & Smoke AlarmsCITY OF OWASSO, OKLAHOMA ORDINANCE NO. 284 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ARTICLE 9, SECTION 926.3.4 OF THE BOCA BASIC BUILDING CODE OF 1978 PERTAINING TO NON-CLASSIFIED ROOF COVREINGS AS PREVIOUSLY ADOPTEDBY ORDINANCE OF WOOD SHINGLES AND SHAKES; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COONCIL OF THE CITY OF OWASSO, OKLAHOMA: Section 1. That Section 926.3.4 of Article 9 of the Boca Basic Building Code/1978, heretofore adopted by Ordinance No. 261, be amended to read as follows: "926.3.4 Non-Classified roof coverinqs: Wo shingles and wood shakes are prohibited on all buildings except one and two family detached dwellings, and accessory buildings to such dwellings. Other non-classified roof coverings shall be permitted on the buildings and structures listed below-, 1. Buildinqs and structures of unvrotected frame (Type 4B) construction when the distance from any other building is not less than twelve (12) feet. 2. Private garages, airplane hangers anc--,,,, similar accessory structures, not exceeding one (1) story or twenty (20) feet in height and twenty-five hundred (2500) square feet in area, when outside the fire limits, located in the same lot with a dwelling and with a fire seoaration of not less than twelve (12) feet. 3. Moderate and low hazard storage buildings (use groups S-1 and S-2) not exceeding one (1) story or twen (20) feet in heiqht and six thousan (6000) square feet in area with a tire separation of not less than,, twelve (12) feet. Firewalls may be used to obtain the required fire separation.'' Section 2. That all Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby expressly repealed. Section 3.
