HomeMy WebLinkAbout352_Amend Sec IX C_Sign Ordinance_Amend Ord 309BOOK 4957 PAGE 1008 502113 CITY OF OWASSO Ordinance No. 352 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 309, SECTION IX, C, PERTAINING TO BUSINESS SIGNS AND OUTDOOR ADVERTISING; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OWASSO, OKLAHOMA: Section 1. That section IX, C, of Ordinance No. 309 be, and the same is hereby amended to read as follows, to wit: Section IX. APPEALING AND VARIANCE. Appeal may be taken within ten (10) days from the decision of any administrative officer to the City Council and the Council may hear and decide the matter de novo, and after review may authorize in specific cases a variance from the terms of this article: Provided that all of the following circumstances are found to apply: C. That the strict application of the Sign Ordinance requirements would result in practical difficulties or unnecessary hardships inconsistent with the general purpose and intent of the Sign Ordinance. Provided further, that no variance shall be granted for a ground sign /pole mounted whose total height is greater than sixty (60) feet or whose area exceeds two hundred fifty -six (256) square feet, and that any such variance shall be authorized only upon affirmative vote of four (4) or more members of the City Council of the City of Owasso. Section 2. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed, provisions consistent herewith remain unaffected hereby.
