HomeMy WebLinkAbout357_Amend Sec 17_Adopting Water, Sewer, and Sanitation Systems Rates513998 CITY OF OWASSO BOOK 4965 PAGE 1452 ORDINANCE NO. 357 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 17 PERTAINING TO WATER, SEWER AND SANITATION SYSTEMS; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL FOR THE ZI CITY OF OWASSO, OKLAHOMA. Section 1. That Section 17 -109 and Section 17 -110 of the City Code are hereby added to Section 17 to read as follows, to wit: Section 17 -109 Water Rates A. There hereby are established the following uniform rates for the volume of water delivered during each calendar month at each connection to the water system serving one household or business located within the corporate limits of the City of Owasso, Oklahoma, as shown by the water meter at such connection; provided that, regardless of the amount of water metered, the monthly charge for each such connection shall not be less than the "minimum charge" set forth: WATER RATES (MONTHLY) First 1,000 gallons $5.50 (minimum charge) Each additional 1,000 gallons $1.90 B. There hereby are established the following uniform rates for the volume of water delivered during each calendar month at each connection to the water system serving one household or business, located outside the corporate limits of the City of Owasso, Oklahoma, as shown by the water meter at such connection; provided that, regardless of the amount of water metered, the monthly charge for each such connection shall not be less than the "minimum charge" set forth; and provided that these rates are equal to 1.90 times the rates established for connection within the corporate limits: WATER RATES (MONTHLY) First 1,000 gallons $10.45 Each additional 1,000 gallons $3.61 Section 17 -110 Sewer Rates A. There hereby are established the following uniform rates for residential sewer service during each calendar month at each connection to the sanitary sewer system serving one household as determined by the average monthly water use for December, January BOOK 496S5 PAGE 1453 and February shown by the water meter at such household; provided that, regardless of the amount of water metered, the monthly charge for each such connection shall not be less than the "minimum charge" set forth: RESIDENTIAL SEWER RATES (MONTHLY) 0 - 2,000 gallons $2.00 (minimum charge) 2,001 - 5,000 gallons $3.00 5,000 gallons and over $4.50 B. There hereby are established the following uniform rates for commercial establishment service during each calendar month at each connection to the sanitary sewer system serving one commercial establishment as determined by the average monthly water use for December, January and February shown by the water meter at such commercial establishment; provided that, regardless of the amount of water metered, the monthly charge for each such connection shall not be less than the "minimum charge" set forth: COMMERCIAL SEWER RATES (MONTHLY) first 10,000 gallons $4.50 10,001 - 100,000 gallons $0.35 per 1000 gallons over 100,000 gallons $0.15 per 1000 gallons Section 2. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed, provisions consistent herewith remain unaffected hereby. Section 3. Emergency. This ordinance is passed as an emergency measure, and the council does, by the vote by which this ordinance is passed, declare that an emergency exists, which makes it imper- ative that this ordinance become effective immediately in order that the public health, welfare and safety might most effectively be provided for.
