ORDINANCE NO. 372
AN ORDINANCE IMPOSING A PROCESSING FEE FOR CERTIFYING
TO THE OKLAHOMA DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY THAT AN
INDIVIDUAL HAS COMPLIED WITH THE REQUIRMYMTS OF
THE STATE AND MUNICIPAL TRAFFIC BAIL BOND PROCUDURE
ACT TO SECURE THEIR DRIVER'S LICENSE AFTER THE SAME
HAS BEEN SUSPENDED FOR VIOLATION OF SAID ACT, orl
PROVIDING FOR CODIFICATION, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, the Oklahoma Legislature has enacted the
"State and Municipal Traffic Bail Bond Procedure Act" to be
effective July 1, 1987; and,
WHEREAS, additional administrative and clerical duties
will be imposed upon the Municipal Court Clerk when an
individual has had their license suspended for violation of
said Act and then seeks reinstatement thereof; and,
WHEREAS, it is necessary to impose a processing fee for
these additional duties,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF OWASSO, OKLAHOMA:
Section 1. That the Code of Ordinances of the City
of Owasso, Oklahoma, in particular, Part Six (6) Court,
Chapter One (1) „Municipal Court Section 6- 125(b) be amended
by renumbering existing Section 6 -125 as Section 6- 125(a)
and adding thereto Section 6- 125(b) such to provide as
follows:
There shall be imposed a processing fee of $20.00
assessed for processing documentation to the Oklahoma
Department of Public Safety demonstrating that an individual
is qualified for reinstatement of their driver's license
after said license has been suspended for failure to comply
with the Court appearance provisions of the State and
Municipal Traffic Bail Bond Procedure Act.
Section 2. This ordinance shall, upon passage, take
effect thirty (30 days from the date of publication hereof
as provided under the Charter of the City of Owasso,
Oklahoma, and the laws of this state.
