ORDINANCE NO. 537
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
OWASSO, OKLAHOMA, THAT, TO-WIT:
Section 1. A public right-of-way lying in Section 6, Township 21 North, Range 14
East of the Indian Base and meridian in Tulsa County,?`6klahoma, according to the United
States Government Survey thereof, more particularly described as follows:
is hereby closed to the public use.
Section 2. That the municipality shall retain the absolute right to reopen the public
way or easement without expense to the municipality. Closing of the public way or easement
shall not affect the right to maintain, repair, reconstruct, operate or remove utility, public
service corporation, or transmission company facilities of service therein, nor shall a closing
affect private ways existing by operation of law unless released in writing executed by
owners thereof.
Section 3. That this ordinance shall take effect thirty (30) days from and after its first
publication as provided by State Law.
BEGINNING at a point on the South line of said Section 6, said point lying
370.42 feet South 89'50'54" East of the South Quarter corner thereof; thence
North 00'09'06" East a distance of 275.00 feet to a point; thence North
10'46'16" East a distance of 108.53 feet to a point, said point being the
beginning of a curve; thence along said curve to the right, said curve having a
radius of 507.47 feet, a central angle of 33'00'00", a long chord of 288.26
feet bearing North 16'39'06" East, a distance of 292.28 feet to a point of
tangent; thence North 33'09'06" East a distance of 279.87 feet to a point of
curve; thence along said curve to the left, said curve having a radius of 542.96
feet, a central angle of 33'02'40", a distance of 313.14 feet to a point of
tangent; thence North 00'06'26" East a distance of 570.32 feet to a point;
thence North 44'00'00" West a distance of 172.70 feet to a point; thence
South 46'00'00" West a distance of 20.00 feet to a point; thence North

North 89'50'54" West along said South line a distance of 80.00 feet to the
point of BEGINNING.

BACKGROUND:
At the January 21, 1997 meeting, the Owasso City Council unanimously approved a request to
close a public right-of-way located north and west of the northwest corner of E. 116th Street
North and Garnett Road. As you may recall, the public-right-of-way exited as a "paper street"
only, and is located throughout much of the area that will be included in the Country Estates 11
addition. A subject map is attached for your information and review.
Attached Is a copy of Ordinance No. 537 which formally adopts the City Council's action of
January 21, 1997.
Staff recommends Council approval of Ordinance No. 537.
