CITY Of OWASSO, OKLAHOMA ORDINANCE NO. 545 AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO PART 13, PUBLIC SAFETY. CHAPTER 2, FIRE DEPARTMENT, ARTICLE C, AMBULANCE SERVICE, OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF OWASSO, OKLAHOMA, AMENDING SAME ADDING BY AS SECTION 13-239 PROVISIONS FOR REVIEW, EVALUATION AND REPORT ON AMBULANCE SERVICE NOT LESS THAN EVERY FIVE YEARS, DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OWAS- SO, OKLAHOMA, THAT, TO-WIT: Section One: That Part 13, Public Safety, Chapter 2, Fire Department, Article C, Ambulance Service, of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Owasso, Oklahoma, shall be amended to provide as Section 13-239 there- of and denoted Ambulance Service Review, the following, to-wn: A) A review of the provisions of Part 13. Public Safety, Chapter 2, Fire Department, Article C, Ambulance Service, Section 13-230 through 13-238, shall be conducted not less than every five years beginning with the effec- tive date of this ordinance. B) The Chief of the Owasso Fire Department shall evaluate the effective- ness of the provisions set forth in Section A hereof and shall submff to the Cny Council proposals as needed to insure the effectiveness of the ambu- lance service. Section Two: Upon passage. this ordinance shall become effective thirty (30) days from the date of first publication as provided by state law. PASSED AND APPROVED this 20th day of May, 1997. Their task was to research, review and evaluate various aspects of the city's ambulance service licensure at an ALS (advanced life support) rating. The team studied the numbers and advantages of an ALS (advanced life support) against a BLS (basic life support) rating. If the licensure was lowered from ALS to BLS, the potential on revenue needed to be addressed also. At the April 15, 1997 City Council meeting, Ordinance Review Team presented their finding and recommendations. to draft a ORDINANCE 369 AMENDMENTS review, Team recommended that the City Council direct the City Attorney new ordinance which contained the following changes to Ordinance #369. review of the ordinance be conducted a maximum of every 1 years (5) five submit of the ordinance and of the ambulance service.
