Home My WebLink About2004 15_Adopting Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan_2004.08.17A RESOLUTION • THE CITY COUNCIL • THE CITY OF OWASSO ADOPTING A MULTI-HAZARD MITIGATION PLAN FOR THE CITY OF OWASSO, OKLAHOMA. WHEREAS, the Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan (the "PLAN") for the City of Owasso is presented in fulfillment of requirements of the Hazardous Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP) for the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), according to Section 322 of the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief Emergency Assistance Act (Stafford Act or the Act), 42 U.S.C. 5165, enacted under Sec. 104 of the Disaster Mitigation Act of 2000, (DMA 2000) P.L. 106-390; and, WHEREAS, the purpose of this Plan is to assess the ongoing mitigation activities in the community, identify and assess the hazards that pose a threat to the citizens and property, evaluate additional mitigation measures that should be undertaken, and outline a strategy for implementation projects; and WHEREAS, the objective of this Plan is to provide guidance for community activities for the next five years and to ensure that the city of Owasso and other partners implement activities that are most effective and appropriate for mitigating natural hazards and hazardous materials incidents. That the PLAN for the City of Owasso, presented in fulfillment of requirements of the HMGP for the FEMA, according to Section 322 of the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act (Stafford Act or the Act), 42 U.S.C. 5165, enacted under Sec. 104 the Disaster Mitigation Act of 2000, (DMA 2000) P.L. 106-390, is hereby approved and adopted by the City Council of the City of Owasso, Oklahoma; and That the PLAN approved and adopted by this Resolution is more particularly described as a compilation labeled "Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan, City of Owasso, Oklahoma," dated May, 2004, which is attached to this Resolution as Exhibit "A".
